iPhone 4 : Jailbreak now available

Posted on August 2, 2010

The jailbreak tool for the iPhone 4, now named as JailbreakMe is available. This time it uses Safari on the iPhone to install. Just go to http://jailbreakme.com ; when the site is loaded just select ” Slide to jailbreak”. The browser will continue to download and install. After completion, you will see ” Cydia has been added “. This new method is very much simpler than the previous Jailbreak procedures.

JailbreakMe will work with older iphones and iPad ver 3.2. It will not work  with the iPad’s 3.2.1 firmware. Some iPhone owners have also reported that MMS and Facetime will not work with this release but a solution is now available here .

It’s still possible to revert to a regular build of iOS by connecting to iTunes and choosing to restore the firmware.

Like earlier jailbreaks, the phone’s warranty will be voided.

This is an excellent guide at http://www.jailbreakmatrix.com/ for the older iPhones and iPod touch for phones with or without earlier jailbreak done.
