The guys at XDA.cn ( China ) had managed to port Windows Phone 7 over to the HTC HD2 ( Windows Mobile 6.5 ) . This is of course will not be supported by HTC officially. The 5 minute  video below demos the HD2 in comparison with an actual Windows Phone 7 , the HTC Surround. The video demonstration compares the boots the  multi-touch functions, Pictures hub, Lock screen, Music hub, Office, Zune, settings and more. A very impressive achievement indeed.

Natasha Kwan, General Manager for Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business in the Asia-Pacific region, had informed that the HTC HD2 will not be supported , saying :
“Because we have very specific requirements for Windows Phone 7 Series the current phones we have right now will not be upgradable”; the HD2 “doesn’t qualify because it doesn’t have the three buttons”.
