As in a computer or any smartphone, one could similarly overclock the iPad. The iPad’s A4 CPU is being tweaked by Apple  to run at an optimum speed of 833 Mhz instead of 1 GHz. The overclocking steps just involve renaming a processor speed monitoring file. Listed below are the steps which are pretty straightforward and simple.

WARNING : You will only be responsible to yourself ; don’t blame me if anything gets screwed up, which is unlikely.

Condition : Your iPad must be JAIL-BROKEN.  Links are listed below on  Jailbreak solutions

1. Launch CYDIA in the iPad

2. Now using Cydia, install the free iFile app .  iFile is a file manager for iPad which can cut, copy, paste, rename, email and zip files on your device including the system files.

3. Launch the iFile app.

4. Now browse to ” System/Library/System Configuration/PowerManagement.bundle/

5. RENAME the ” com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefault.plist file to “SystemPowerProfileDefaultBACKUP.plist “.

Note the letters BACKUP must be in caps. Inorder to rename a file using iFile, just touch the field with the file name and it becomes editable itself.

6. Once completed,  click on Done.

7. Now reboot the iPAD

Your iPad is now OVERCLOCK and will be faster than before.
